I can remember visiting Grosse Ile for the summer when I was the same age as my sons were in the story that Jamie recounted above. Carol was there for me also. She took me on my first sailing excursions on the Detroit River. She baited my hook and would sit on the dock with me while I fished. It was a summer that all seven year old boys should experience and Carol was a central part of it.

I am sorry for your loss Kate and Tom, and we will keep you and your mother in our prayers.
