In the morning I got up and walked around taking some pictures of our camp.
The first narrows started with a few pools we had to walk through. Soon we were in long narrow pools and carrying our packs over our heads. Finally we came to a deep pool that went around a corner. Danny explored forward. On return he was wet up to his chest and said it got deeper. Andrew went forward and we could hear him struggle to climb out of the pool. I followed with Andrew's pack. The exit turned out to be a 20 ft chimney climb. It started with an underwater stem, a crimper for the right hand then up to a good ledge for the left. From there it was possible to enter the chimney which was fairly easy.
Once on top we were all chilled and spent the next 15 minutes jumping around in a small patch of the sun to warm ourselves.
We packed our gear in dry bags and plastic bags so they should stay dry if dunked, but also planned to float them on therma rests. I figured that a therma rest should keep 80% of a pack out of the water. That worked as expected, but we found it too fussy to keep the pack on the pad.
In the afternoon we encoutered another swim through pool with a chimney exit. This involved getting up into a pocket, turning around then chimneying out. No pictures because it is too cold to keep packing and unpacking my camera.
In the evening we had dinner down in the canyon then loaded up with water can climbed to the rim to camp.
