In March of 2008, after missing the trip in 2008, I flew down to Utah,
met up with the post for canyoneering, then met up with Richard Lintermans for
a hike around Navajo Mountain.

In central Oregon we passed by some lava flows then a recreation area. There was a long straight road leading up to the recreation area so I decided to stop and take a look. |
The weather was mixed. Beautiful evening light on snow covered mountains in southern Oregon but we also passed around and through some rain showers. |
There is no longer a manager at Well's airport but we found this open hanger which provided good shelter from the wind and camped here. Toilet and water were near by - everything we really needed. |
We also stopped in the Great Salt desert. |
In Utah we spent one night at Angel Point airstrip (this is the shorter cross wind runway). |

We spent a secon night at Mokai Dome, but there are no worthy pictures from there.
