This was a 3 day ski trip to Yellow Aster Butte. I also returned to this place for another trip in 2007
Day 2 we skiied up from camp a short ways and found a good ski run. We tried to ski up to the ridge top but found the wind much worse and the snow less certain. We took a break at camp and did 3 runs in the afternoon. Snow and wind often. Not many pictures of the skiing because it was too cold and went to stop and get my camera out.
Another blizzard overnight. The wind would rattle the tent, loosening ice crystals which then fell on our faces.
On the way out we dropped over the ridge above us and descended the east side. The snow here was very deep and light with no wind packing at all.
